Although my husband certainly enjoys Father’s Day gifts that revolve around his hobbies (NASCAR, Golf, etc.), he’s also one to really appreciate things that are created from the heart.  Gifts handmade by the kids and/or me are always given center stage over something store bought.  And this year, I thought a coupon book was just the thing.  Dad can redeem the coupons any time and the coupons are all about things he enjoys doing with me and the kids.

For my booklet, I wanted to make each page look like a ticket.  I cut 3” x 6” pieces of white cardstock and used the Admission for One Corner Squeeze Punch on all corners.  I also used the Perforating Rotary Blade with my trimmer on the bottom 1 ½” of each page so that the bottom could actually be separated when Dad wanted to redeem the coupon.  To embellish, I chose Cosmo Cricket’s Mr. Campy collection of patterned paper.  With this, I used various other Squeeze Punches (including You Bracket, You Bought It; Funky Love; and High Five among others) and the Ultra ShapeXpress Tool and the Circle Shape Template to create accents for each page.  I also used my Stamp Blocks along with Clear Stamps (Fiskars a to z; Li’l Davis’ Noted & Calendar, and Heidi Grace Designs Borders) to stamp the cardstock and the punched shapes.  I found that the dashed border stamp is a great way to highlight the perforated section of the coupon.  Once the coupons are complete they can be attached with a binder ring and ribbon and the coupon book is ready to share with Dad.

The booklet can be given by itself or you can add it as a gift topper to a present or even include a gift card on one of the pages.  Whatever you decide, showing Dad that we want to spend time with him doing things he enjoys is a great way to show him how much we love him and will make Father’s Day that much more special.

For coupon ideas, think about what the “dad” in your life enjoys.

Here are a few suggestions for other coupon pages:
-help with yard work
-lunch with sweetheart/wife
-game time with the kids
-his favorite homemade meal
-an afternoon of fishing
-a personal caddy for golf
-breakfast in bed

To make the booklet into a mini album/photo keepsake, take photos of the activities you include as your coupons.  Then add the photos to the back of each page along with journaling.

Want a quick & easy gift for Dad? This set of fun magnets comes together in no time at all…and it’s simple enough for kids to make themselves.

Dad can hang the magnets at work for a fun reminder of home. You’ll need a variety of Fiskars squeeze punches, a few magnet sheets, scraps of patterned paper, and a few embellishments...then you’re ready to create!

I started with sheets of magnets that I picked up at my local office supply store. These sheets are paper thin, so they’re easy to punch through with Fiskars Squeeze punches. For each magnet, I trimmed a square using the Fiskars Portable Trimmer. I love rounded corners, but I wanted to add a little extra interest, so I only rounded 2 corners of each square using the Fiskars Twist & Flip 2-in-1 corner punch. Then I covered each magnet square with kraft cardstock. To decorate, I pulled out some of my favorite Fiskars Squeeze Punches – Too Hip to be Square, Round ‘n Round, and Twinkle Twinkle. For more dimensions, use foam adhesive to make your punched shapes “pop.” Simple embellishments & coordinating stickers help complete the look.

These fun magnets will brighten up any Dad’s office! note: all patterned paper & stickers from October Afternoon’s Night Light Collection

My husband has this habit of coming home from work and leaving a path of little gadgets from his day at work.  There is the wallet, the car keys, his security badge, cell phone, change, and other miscellaneous things!  This Father's day I thought the perfect gift would be a nice masculine valet box!  The bonus is that if it is from his little girl he will be sure to use it!

I created my strips of paper to cover the top around the photo area using my Fiskars Premium Crafters trimmer and then using the Fiskars Leave to Weaver border punch to create the design.  The patterned papers, chipboard embellishments, ribbons and rub ons are all from the Cosmo Cricket Lil' Man collection.  You will see how the papers and embellishments each played a role to accent the finished pieces using my Fiskars tools!

First, let's take a look at the "World's Greatest" embellishment piece.  I used my Fiskars paper crimper to crimp the red cardstock rectangle and then layered solid and patterned paper on the top finishing it off with some Cosmo Cricket chipboard pieces.  You will notice the chipboard buttons have some wire curls coming out of them.  I created these wire curls by using my Fiskars Right Angle tool, Fiskars wire cutters and Fiskars needle nose pliers.  This is such a cute way to finish off any kind of buttons!  As for the other embellishment piece on the cover, this was created using the Fiskars XL Seal of approval squeeze punch and Fiskars L Round 'n Round squeeze punch.  Between the 2 punched pieces is a layer of red that had been trimmed using the Fiskars deckle edge scissors.

On the end of the box the patterned paper was cut using the Fiskars pinking edge scissors along the top and bottom.  The small blue circles were created using my Fiskars 1/4" circle punch.  On the front side you see larger circles created using my Fiskars pop up circle punch and Cosmo Cricket rub on letters.  Then I took each circle letter and a Fiskars pop dot and attached in the center of each diamond to spell the word "Daddy."

Of course the valet would not be complete without a photo of daddy and daughter in the top opening of the box!  There are great valet boxes available all over out there in all different sizes and shapes.

We hope you're inspired to pick up some tools a nd create something hand crafted for special dads in your life!
