Trio of cards

Designer: Janna Wilson The new Cloud 9 stamps make cardmaking even more enjoyable, and the possibilities are endless. I have made three baby themed cards with one stamp set, and you could easily utilize these card designs with other themes available such as birthday, wedding, and so many more.

Instructions

 1. Fold a 7” x 10” piece of orange plaid paper in half to make a 5” x 7” card and punch outside corners with Round the Corner punch. 2. Cut a 3 1/2” circle, or window in the upper portion of the card. 3. Cut the same size circle from green dots paper; discard the circle. Use Cloud Paper Edgers to cut around the negative space to create about a 3/8” scalloped frame. 4. Stamp quote onto transparency. Note: When stamping on transparency, you’ll find that stamping the slick surface can be tricky. It may take a couple of practice runs to get a good clean image. 5. Use the discarded circle cut from green dotted paper as a guide to cut the quote out. Cut the transparency circle about ¼” larger than guide circle. It needs to be LARGER than the window cut in the card. 6. Adhere the transparency circle over the window in the card. 7. Add the 1 ½” wide strips above and below the window. Cut a V in the lower strip—its about 2 ½ inches tall. 8. Place the scalloped frame over the transparency and accent lower edge with a gingham bow. 9. Add photo to inside of card.
1. Fold a 7” x 10” piece of dotted paper in half to make a 5” x 7” card and punch outside corners with Round the Corner punch. 2. Punch both long edges of a 3” x 10” strip of orange plaid paper with Threading Water Border Punch. Add strip to lower portion of card –wrap around to back side as well. Machine stitch around edges of card. 3. Stamp transparency sheet with quote stamps—go vertical with some to add interest. Note: When stamping on transparency, you’ll find that stamping the slick surface can be tricky. It may take a couple of practice runs to get a good clean image. 4. Cut heart shape from transparency and paint edges with a bit of acrylic paint. Let dry thoroughly. 5. Stamp quote onto a 1” x 4” blue paper strip. Staple quote and heart onto card at the same time. 6. Zig zag stitch along lower edge of blue quote strip.
1. Fold a 7” x 10” piece of white cardstock in half to make a 5” x 7” card. 2. Add three strips (each 7” tall) to cover the front of the card: 1” strip of yellow paper; ¾” strip of blue paper (punched with Threading Water Border Punch; and a 3 ½” strip of dots 3. Zig zag stitch the seam of the blue scalloped strip and dotted paper. 4. Cut a white cardstock tag about 1 ½” x 4 ½” and stamp quote onto lower part of tag. 5. Stamp quote onto transparency (before cutting) and let dry thoroughly. Line up quote with quote stamped white tag and cut to the same size as white tag - 1 ½” x 4 ½”. Note: When stamping on transparency, you’ll find that stamping the slick surface can be tricky. It may take a couple of practice runs to get a good clean image. 6. Place a little bit of adhesive at the top to secure the two layers together. 7. Punch a circle with Pop Up Punch and glue to top of tag. Punch center of circle with ¼” circle Hand Punch. Tie ribbon to top of tag. 8. Place a vellum flower underneath the transparency tag and attach with a brad through the entire piece. Add tag to lower right corner of card. 9. Layer two more vellum flowers together with a vellum leaf. Place part of the flower underneath the transparency tag and attach flower to card with brad.
