Baby Chick Onesie

Take inspiration from Fiskars Clear Stamps for a simply adorable embroidery project.  These make a super cute hand-made gift for baby.

  • Baby
  • Classic No. 8 Scissors
  • baby onesie
  • yellow, orange and blue embroidery floss
  • yellow fabric marker
  • embroidery needle
  • embroidery ring
  • fabric pen/poncil

Instructions (Print version)

  1. Decide what size you would like your chick to be and transfer the chick design to the onesie.  (I hand-drew mine, but you could copy/enlarge the image and then trace it with a light box or by holding it up to the window).
  2. Backstitch along outline of chick with 3 strands of yellow floss.
  3. Color in the body of the chick with the fabric marker.
  4. Satin stitch the beak with orange floss (3 strands).
  5. Backstitch the legs with orange floss (3 strands)—double the stitches on the feet.
  6. Sew French Knots for the eyes.
