Everyone loves to get photos of the kids…especially when they are decorated in the bright, happy colors of Summer! Instead of making the typical 5x7 folded card, I used Fiskars cool new Softouch-Micro-Tip Scissors to cut out a unique flower flap. This pair of scissors is spring loaded and is half the work of regular scissors. Li’l Davis Castaway Papers and Embellishment line added just the touch of Summer I was looking for. So beat the heat, stay inside and get crafting! You’re sure to make those relatives smile!

Instructions (Print version)

1. Trim navy cardstock to 5x7 inches. Trim light blue patterned paper to 4 ¾ x 6 ¾ inches.  Crop photo to 5 x 3 ½ inches.

2. Cut large red half-bloom from patterned paper using Softouch Micro-Tip Scissors. Fold 1sheet of white paper in half. Place flat side of flower on top of fold and use glue stick to adhere. Cut out bloom again with scissors. (This will look like a flower booklet).

3. To assemble card: Mount cropped photo to patterned paper. Attach bottom flap of flower underneath left side of patterned paper with glue stick. Now mount this to navy cardstock base. Cut the ‘legs’ from the epoxy brad and mount to flower front using foam dot.

4. Mount ‘chipboard word’ on to white paper using glue stick. Cut out with scissors leaving a 1/8inch margin around word. Open flower flap and mount to inside using glue stick.
