Bug parties are just plain FUN and can be tailored to work well for boys or girls a wide range of ages. Fiskars tools make it easy to craft your own decorations and invitations. And Cloud 9 Design's 'Max's Backyard" line has perfect papers and embellishments!

Invitations
1. Trim brown cardstock to 6" x 8.5" and fold in half to create card base.
2. Using Ultra ShapeXpress, cut the following: one black 'stem' from flower template, two green leaves from flower template (punch three holes into one), one each green and transparency 2.5" circle from circle template, and one black 2.5" circle with 2" circle cut from center.
3. Layer and adhere all cut pieces together as shown and add printed text.
4. Using Easy Squeeze Glue Gun, adhere fake bug to center of newly created magnifying glass.
Thank You Cards
1. Trim Max's Backyard paper to 5" x 7" and fold in half to create card base. Cut strip of matching striped paper using pinking edgers and cut slits at each point. Adhere to bottom of card front fanning out created grass blades.
2. Create simple template for dragonfly body and reproduce desired number of times onto gray cardstock.
3. Stamp 'many thanks' greeting onto body.
4. Trim petals from glittered flower leaving two sets of opposing petals. Adhere body to newly created wings and adhere all onto punched, inked circle. Add to card using foam adhesive dots.
 Place Setting
1. Cut 6.5" (or size of your particular plates) circle from red and black cardstock using Circle Cutter.
2. Trim edge off one side of red circle and cut remaining in half. Trim thin triangle from each "wing", reassemble, and adhere onto black circle.
3. Punch six black circles and adhere to wings. Sandwich bug design between two plastic plates.
***Note: After meal, ladybug can be safely removed from sandwiched plates to be used as a craft.
4. Drill two holes (smallest bit) near top of plastic spoon handle using Craft Drill. Drill same small holes into fake bug. Using large needle, thread bug onto handle using matching embroidery floss and tie tightly.
Cupcakes
1. Bake chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. Create 'dirt' for topping by smashing (in a bag) Oreos with creme filling removed and add gummi worm.
2. Fold green cardstock in half and freehand cut leaf shape using pinking edgers.
3. Emboss graining into leaf using stylus on foam pad. Punch three 'worm holes' with hand punch.
Party Favor
My favorite party favor to give is a book that relates to the party theme. Something useful they can take home and actually keep. This allows you to have fun making a bookmark to include!
1. Trim two pieces of Luster cardstock from Max's Backyard line to 2" x 8" and adhere together with desired pattern outside.
2. Punch top corners with corner squeeze punch and bottom with Threading Water punch.
3. Punch hole for Rain Dot Eyelets (add one to front and back to reinforce hole). Drill two small holes ino fake bug and thread matching embroidering floss through to secure to bookmark.
4. Finish by adding printed text.
