Melissa Norris, Fiskateer #1464, thinks the Craft Drill rocks!  There's nothing this baby won't go through.  But make sure you have a spare bit of wood and some clamps when drilling!  You don't want to holey table.  If you don’t have clamps, I’ve found several rubber bands works well to hold everything in place. And have a small precision file to get those bits of paper out of the drilled holes.

Many people make inspirational books, but I chose to make a mini-album for my sister-in-law of things that will make her laugh and smile.  We all have days where we need a little “haha!” and that’s what this book is.  It’s filled with photos and quotes from her favorite movies and TV shows, silly knock knock jokes that always make her giggle, photos of her and her niece, and I left one blank for her to add a photo of her friends.  The perfect album when she needs a laugh.

Instructions (Print version)

1. Gather as many CDs as you would like.  Just make sure you have enough space in your ring for them all to move freely.

  1. 2. Using your tape runner, attach one side of the CD to the wrong side of your paper.
  2. 3. Use your fingertip craft knife or scissors, trim around the CD, then repeat step 2 on the other side of the CD.
  3. 4. Sand around the edges of the CD with a sanding block or sandpaper just to take away some of the shine and smooth out the edges of the paper.
  4. 5. Once all the CDs are covered (no photos or embellishments), stack up the CDs on top of your spare board and secure them into place.  Choose a large enough drill bit for your ring to fit in, and drill through your CDs.  Then take a precision file and file the holes in the CDs to remove excess paper or plastic bits for a clean finish.
  5. 6. Add your photos and embellishments!
  6. 7. Add your ring or another way to attach the album together (i.e. ribbon, ball chain, cord, etc.) and enjoy your book!
