I love to create with paper every day and my new photos are a constant inspiration.  However, every year about this time, I think about all the Christmas’s that have gone by and all the old (not so perfect) photos that I haven’t yet scrapped.

If there is ever a time you are wanting to create a quick mini album but don’t have one on hand, this star album is the perfect solution. When I saw this Cloud9 Christmas paper, it inspired me to grab some of those old photos and have fun creating an album. There are so many detailed images in the pattern paper that can be cut out so easily with the finger tip craft knife.  Two of my other favorite tools right now are the Push and Print Stamp Factory and the scalloped squeeze punch.  Partnered with the perfect stamp, I was able to use these tools to make my own little journaling tags for each of the pages.

Instructions (Print version)

1) Cut 8 pieces of  cardstock 11 ½” x 4 ¼” inches.  Fold in half or score down the middle.

2)  Cut 8 pieces of  matching cardstock 9” x 4 ½” inches.  Fold in half or score down the middle.

3)  Cut 8 pieces of matching cardstock 8” x 4 ½” inches.  Fold in half or score down the middle.

4)  Adhere the 8” x 4 ½” pieces to the inside of the 9” x 4 ½” by taping the edges opposite of the fold together.

5)  Now take the 9” x 4 1/2” and tape the outside edges to the inside edges of the 11 ½”  (opposite the fold.)  You need to apply tape to one edge of the cardstock (as shown) while creating the star.

6)   Now tape each edge of the individual pages you have created together.

7)  Adhere ribbon to the front and back.  Cut a 5 ¼” x 4” piece of pattern paper to cover it up and then embellish it as desired.

8)  Add photos and pattern paper to the page inside the album.

9)  Use stamps and squeeze punch to create your own journaling tags.

10)  I used the negative of my scalloped squeeze punch to create a fun design on the back of my album.
