On top of a cutting mat, use the pattern from the circle border punch and the rotary cutter to cut 2 6” in diameter circles out of fabric. I used a patterned fabric for the top of my pincushion and a polka-dot felt for the bottom.
-
Turn the “good sides” of both fabric circles in to face each other. We are going to stitch these circles together and when you turn it inside out you want the good sides to be showing.
-
Stitch these 2 circles together leaving about a ¼” seam. Make sure not to stitch the entire circle! Leave yourself some room so that you can turn your pincushion inside out and stuff it.
-
After turning stitched design inside out, stuff with polyester fiber or filling of choice.
-
Handstitch the remaining open portion of the seams together.

Use embroidery thread and a long needle to form the blossoms. Start by pulling the threaded needle up through the center of the bottom of the pincushion. (Make sure you have a pretty big knot so that the thread stays in place!)
