Ipod Cover

Felt is such an easy fabric to work with, and it’s even easier when you have great tools like the Fiskars Rotary Cutter! I made this Ipod cover in 1 hour …including handsewing the seams and decorating.

- 45 mm Comfort Grip Rotary Cutter
- 12" x 18" Self-Healing Cutting Mat
- 3" x 18" Acrylic Ruler with Two-Color Grid
- Heidi Grace Designs: 12-70129 Woodland Acrylic Ribbon Tie
- Craft Felt –Black, Red, Green
- Rick Rack Trim – Red, White
- Embroidery Floss – White, Black
- Needle
- Small Button- Green
- White marking pencil

Fold Black Felt in half. Place Ipod on top of felt ½” from fold line, draw a line (½” out) around sides and bottom of Ipod with white marking pencil. Cut out shape using Rotary Cutter and Cutting Mat. Place this shape on top of folded felt again…and cut out another shapes. You should have 2 shapes that are folded at the top.

Cut a 3” piece of White Rick Rack and Glue to front side of black felt (tuck 1” around back and secure with glue). Cut a 5” piece of Red Rick Rack and glue to top of black felt in a curve (tuck sides around back and glue. Glue Red, hand stitched circle to front of one side. Next Glue a Large button on top. Thread a needle with white embroidery floss and run through small green button. Tie a knot in back and glue to large button. Cut a small leaf out of green felt. Stitch ‘veins’ with white floss and glue to white Rick Rack stem.

With wrong sides together, thread a needle with white embroidery floss and stitch both sides together using a whip stitch (leaving top open).
