Instructions
(Print version)
1. Place your fabric, print side down on your cutting mat. 2. Open your journal on top of the fabric, so that the two covers and the spine are all laying flat on the fabric. 3. Use a pencil to trace around the journal, then use the rotary cutter and ruler to cut out the journal shape, leaving a 1/4" border around the entire shape. 4. Now set the close journal on the fabric and trace around the front and back covers of the journal individually. Cut out these shapes with the ruler and rotary cutter, once again leaving a 1/4" seam allowance. 5. Hem the inside edge of each cover piece 6. Set out the large piece of fabric the was cut to cover the entire journal out, print side up. 7. Now lay the individual cover pieces on top of the large piece, aligned with the left and right edges. The printed side of these should be placed down. 8. Now sew around the three edges of each cover flap, leaving the inside edges unsewn. 9. Flip the fabric so the print side faces out and insert your journal.
