calling card for mom

New moms are in a big adjustment phase…why not make their lives a bit easier by creating some custom designed calling cards for Mama?  They can leave them at the doctor’s office, flip them out at a play date or leave them with the pre-school teacher.  It’s a great gift idea and something you’ll enjoy making!  Stamp with Versamark ink to add a softened design to your paper projects…and really give the calling cards a custom high end look.  Just paper clip the cards to the inside of the greeting and you’re sure to impress everyone at the baby shower!

Instructions (Print version)

1. Cut deep pink cardstock to 7” x 10” and fold to create a 5” x 7” card.  Stamp the upper and lower 1 ½” of the card with the large floral motif to create a background pattern.
2. Punch deep turquoise cardstock with Apron Lace border punch and add to the back of a 3” x 7” piece of light blue cardstock.  Add to card and stitch around with machine if desired.
3. Print greeting/sentiment on white cardstock using computer (Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop) with the text sized to about 1” x 1 ¼” overall.  Stamp large bracket frame design over text with black ink.  Trim out the design with Microtip Scissors.  Embellish with gems and Heidi Grace heart epoxy stickers.
4. Add framed sentiment to card with foam adhesive squares; tie a bow with ribbon and place directly to the left of the frame.

5. Design a simple business card (sized 2”x 3 ½”) using word processing software or Adobe Photoshop.  Print the card design onto your choice of colored cardstock and trim out with paper trimmer.
NOTE:  You can use texture plates to add an embossed frame around the card to give it more dimension.  Just pencil the outline on the back and use the detail stylus and “straight lines” texture plate to emboss.
6. Stamp a design right onto the printed cards using a favorite stamp and Versamark ink…it will give  a watermark effect without taking away from your printed text.

7. Add the card to the right of the framed sentiment and accent the lower corner with a flower.
