Designer: Stacey Kingman

She’ll know you went the extra mile for her when she sees this envelope card you handmade for Mother’s Day! It looks like an envelope, but it’s a card with a flap, wrapped up with some pretty lace for Mom. This fun, slightly interactive card looks much more involved than it actually is, but you don’t have to tell anyone that..and you’ll have so much fun folding and stamping and sewing with this project, you’ll want to make more of them!

Instructions (Print version)

1. Cut Patterned paper to 12” X 6”, fold the botton 4 ½” of the paper up to create the main part of the card. Fold the remaining 3 inches down to create the “envelope flap.”
2. Place the super-sized circle template over the top flap and cut a rounded edge with the Ultra ShapeXpress.
3. Machine stitch a border around the top flap.
4. Cut purple dot paper to 4 ¼” X 6”, adhere to front of card and machine stitch a border.
5. Cut a 17” piece of  lace and lay it across the center panel on the inside of the card so that it will be covered by the flap when the card is closed. Cut a piece of purple paper to 4 ¼” X 5 ¾” and adhere on top of the lace. Punch an Extra Large Seal of Approval (flower) and cut as shown. Adhere flower pieces and machine stitch around the edge of this section.
6. Using the Compact Stamp Press, stamp a random pattern onto the front purple panel with dark ink.
7. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the inside panel.
8. Stamp the smaller design onto the top flap of the card and on the inside purple panel.
9. Punch a hole in the center of the flap. Punch an Extra Large Seal of Approval (flower) and punch a hole in it. Adhere over the hole on the flap.
10. Punch two leaves, adhere.

11. Stamp a design on solid cardstock and punch two circles with the Circle Pop-up Punch from within the design and cut to go inside the card as flower centers. Center the Medium Round ‘n Round Squeeze Punch over one of the holes and create another flower center for the card front. This one will need to be larger and have the hole in it. Adhere over the flower.
12. Tie the lace up through the hole to close the card.
13. Stamp the letters for “MOM” on cardstock and cut out individually with scissors, adhere.
