I have a soft spot for owls, so I fell in love as soon as I saw the new Night Owl squeeze punch. I decided to use him for a Halloween décor piece.  I used the awesome Eerie line by Basic Grey to create a haunted color scheme, but if you switched out the colors, this could be a basic fall piece (think browns and greens), or even a funky piece in a child’s bedroom.

Instructions (Print version)

1. Trim background patterned paper to 8x10.

2.  Use your fingertip craft knife to cut a tree from black paper.  I cheated and used the trees on a piece of patterned paper, but  you could easily freehand the trees if you wanted.
3.  Use your USX and super sized circles to cut a 6.75 in circle from yellow paper, then spray it with gold Maya Mist for a cool, shimmery effect.
4. Layer the circle (moon) and tree to the background.
5. Add stitching to the tree with black thread.

6. Punch Night Owl three times from cardstock and once from patterned paper.  Layer all of the pieces together and add to the tree branch.
7. Add brads in place of the owl’s eyes.

8. Place finished piece in a frame.
