Spread some cheer this spring as you work to spruce up your flowerbeds!  Take leftover bulb or bedding flowers and pot a few for the giving.  Make it extra special when you alter the flower pot and make it just as lovely as the flowers.  Create simple adornments for the potted flowers with cute stickers and wire!  Get the kids involved in this fun project too!

Instructions (Print version)

1. Paint pot if desired or purchase a painted pot. 
2. Cut various shapes and designs from Heidi Grace patterned paper and adhere to pot in a random/patchwork design.  You could also punch dots in a favorite color scheme to create a dotty pot!

NOTE:  you might want to use decoupage adhesive if the plant you’re giving will be staying in the pot for very long…this will protect the paper from moisture to some extent.
3. Trim blue paper to 1” x 12 and adhere around the top edge of the pot. 
4. Trim green paper to 1” x 12” and punch along both edges with Apron Lace Border Punch.  Glue to the bottom of the blue strip.  (The 12” lengths will not be enough to go around the entire circumference of the pot—the remaining gap is where the label is added.)
5. Cut an oval with Ultra ShapeXpress and an oval template.  Mount the oval onto pink cardstock and trim around it with Scallop Paper Edgers.  Add a greeting or word to the oval label with stickers.

6. Attach about 12” of  wire to back of stickers and add a bit of clear tape to secure.  Create a swirly design, double over excess at ends and push wire deep into soil.
