I love when mini albums are busting at the seams full of photo goodness.  So for a fun and sunny summer album, I decided to create an album that literally pops open with photos.  You definitely can't judge this book by its cover.  Once open, the rays pop open and unfold to reveal lots of photo where journaling can be added on the back of the rays corresponding to each photo.  The Premium Cut-Line Trimmer made this album a snap with all of the cuts and folds I needed.  At one point I even had both the cutting and scoring blades on the trimmer at the same time multi-tasking!

Instructions (Print version)

1.  Print out or trim twelve 1.5" x 2.25" photos.
2.  Cut six 7.5" x 1.75" strips of yellow cardstock.
3.  Score and fold each strip every 2.5" and add photos to top two rectangles of each ray.

4.  Trace half of 8.25" circle template onto back of yellow cardstock and cut out along drawn line using pinking edgers.
5.  Cut half of 7.75" circle using circle template and Ultra ShapeXpress on craft mat.
6.  Adhere half circles together aligned at bottom and scored down center.
7.  Adhere all rays to back of pinked half circle using last folded tab.  Be sure all rays stay on one side of center score or other so it will all fold into album.  Do not cross the middle score line.

8.  Using trimmer, cut 10" x 5" chipboard base and score 4 7/8" from each edge to create spine.  Fold and crease with bone folder.

9.  Trim and score patterned paper for outside and inside of album with same dimensions as cover and adhere to base.
10.  Adhere sun to inside of album by apply adhesive to back of sun at bottom and sides avoiding top and center of sun and center so they will be free to pop up.  Fold sun in half and place into folded album base evenly.

11.  Create four stamped tropical flowers.  To achieve watercolor effect, color in flower with markers and stamp twice onto white cardstock.  The first will be too dark, but the second will be beautiful.  Cut out the second image leaving a small white border.

12.  Punch 1/16" circle into center of each flower.  Double knot a piece of embroidery floss and feed through hole.  Tape to back of flower.

13.  Add lettering and three of the flowers to inside of album.

14.  To finish album cover, punch yellow cardstock using 4" sun circle border punch and cut 2.5" circle using Ultra ShapeXpress.  Layer together and add flower and lettering.
15.  Tape twine to center of front cover and add sun on top using foam adhesive dots to create tie closure and complete album.
