How many times have you been somewhere and wished you would have had a tool handy to use?  Like you are at a picnic at the park and the grill you were going to use has a loose screw.  Or you are at the beach and there sticking out of the dock is a nail.  Create this handy take a long tool pouch and you will never have that problem again.

I created this pouch to be durable yet fashionable so I feel totally cool carrying my tools!  I keep this roll right in the trunk so it will always be there waiting for me when I need it.  I know I will use it a million times.

Instructions (Print version)

1.  Cut a piece of canvas that measures 23"x36" using your Fiskars Comfort Grip Rotary Trimmer, Fiskars 3.5x18.5 inch ruler and Fiskars 24"x36" cutting mat.

2.  Using your Fiskars Compact Stamp press and your Fiskars Country Pedals Stamp Set along with your green (or any color) acrylic paint stamp impressions all over one side of the canvas.  You will want to apply the acrylic paint to the stamp using a makeup sponge or a foam brush evenly on the acrylic stamp before you stamp each time.  Allow your stamped impressions to completely dry on the canvas.

3.  Take your iron and place it on the cotton setting.  Place the towel across the top of the stamped designs and heat press using the iron.  Continue this until you have heat set all the stamped patterns into place.  This will keep the acrylic paint from washing off your canvas.

4.  Sew brown seam binding all along one long edge of the canvas piece. Trim ends and thread using your Fiskars Razor Edged No.8 bent scissors. Fold this edge pattern side

5.  Use remaining brown seam binding to sew all the way around the remaining 3 raw edges of your canvas making sure you include the pocket edges in this piece.  You have now created your pocket.

6.  Decide how many pocket slots you want and how wide you want each to be.  I am placing a hammer, screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, etc. in my pocket areas.  Once you decide, measure this out on your canvas and mark the areas with straight pins that can easily be removed.

7.  Sew lines with your ivory thread from top to bottom on the pocket area to create your divided sections.  I only did pockets for the first 2/3 of the canvas piece leaving the last 1/3 section to just wrap around the tools enclosed to keep them securely in place.

8.  Fold your 1 yard of coordinating ribbon or twill in half and sew this down on the outside edge of the canvas that does not have the tool pockets in it.  This will be your wrap around tie to secure the tools inside of the wrap. up 8" towards the center of the plain side of the canvas.  This will eventually serve as your pocket area.
