Keepsake Box

I always find myself with little bits of “stuff” that I want to keep.  Cards, ticket stubs, notes, receipts, photos sent from friends, etc.  And I love the idea of keeping it all in one place.  One fabulously-decorated little box that I can keep tucked away, and add to it when I want to.  I created this box just for that – and the design can be easily modified to create a birthday, anniversary, or everyday oriented keepsake box of your own.  So you too can keep lots of little “stuff”!

Instructions (Print version)

1. Start with an unfinished base craft box –I used a paper mache box that I bought at the craft store.
2. Cover sides of box using dark green paper.  Cover top of lid using ivory small dot paper.  Cover sides of lid using brown dot paper.
3. Punch border strips using threading water punch on cream colored paper.  Adhere them around the box base.
4. Trim stripe strips slightly less side than threading water border punch strips, and then adhere stripes at base of box – so threading water punched edge peeks out.
5. Apply rubons to top of box lid.

6. Use page matte frame as focal point of lid.  Add “LOVE” chipboard sticker and then rubon phrase “the little things” and “& keep them” onto stickers and chipboard embellishments.  Add these to box lid.
7. Punch custom embellishment for lid: XL and L circle, layered with Loves Me Loves Me Not flower in center  – then layered Mint condition punches as “leaves” – and add button to flower center.  Adhere this to upper left corner of frame on box lid.
8. Add stickers to lid and sides of box.
