Welcome To The Neighborhood
Designer: Deb Perry
This is perfect card to tuck into a basket of goodies to welcome that new neighbor! I used one of Heidi Grace’s pre-made cards that come with the window cut out, used my Rotary Cutter to trim off the fold, and stitched up the edges. Then I used one of her punchout tags as a ‘shutter’, added ribbon, flowers, stickers, and a sentiment. Done in under 20 minutes! I love gifts that are cute and quick!

Instructions
(Print version)
-
Using cutting mat and rotary cutter, trim fold off of card in order to have two separate pieces. Zig zag Stitch around front of card window. (I stitched around several times). Stitch a curved stem to front of card with green rick rack. Fold Pink flower in half, then in half again…stitch to top of flower stem. Fold the green flower (same as pink) and stitch to bottom of stem to appear as grass.
-
Cut white rick rack in half and stitch to front and back of green tag bottom. Insert tag into back of window…stitch across top edge to secure. Push tag through window and fold upwards. This forms the ‘shutter’.
-
With wrong sides matched, Zig Zag Stitch around outer edges several times.
-
Add letter stickers inside of window. Lift up flap and handwrite sentiment underneath. Add a black outline along outer stitching edge. Outline front of shutter.
